Snapshot of L.A. Met a friend at the Chinese to see Pirahana 3-D (Yes, it’s true. I thought it would be a funny diversion akin to Snakes on a Plane…WRONG!) Since I’d rather scoop my eyes out with a hot spork than drive to that part Hollywood, I took the subway…On my way back to the station I strolled past this singing religious group (Are they Amish? Hasidic? A lost tribe of Anti-Mummers?). They made my disappointing afternoon of watching wee fish dining on spring break brats (How could ya not find the funny in that set up?!?!) almost worth while. Click to to make it bigger.

OT, but You know – Obama’s raising his birth certificate when asked about the # of people thinking he’s muslim has been niggling at the back of mind. It just seemed like such a non sequitur. Why did he immediately think of the birther thing – which is about his citizenship and right to be president with his religion? Maybe similar in the sense that they can be termed conspiracy theories, but really not related at all.
A Hillbuzz post reminded me though of one of the most credible hypotheses about why Obama refuses to show his long form BC – that it lists his father as a Muslim. Now, not sure why he’d be worried about that – after all I think people realized that his father was Muslim (albeit pretty secular) and definitely that his stepfather was – but it makes much more sense that he wanted to hide that during the campaign than his BC somehow proved he wasn’t born in the US. Then, when he’d dug himself into a hole by not producing it, he just decided to dig in and refuse forever to produce it.
So, now – since the real reason he wouldn’t produce it was because he didn’t want people thinking he really was muslim, as people start to question his religion, his BC immediately pops into his head.
I think everything about Obama is a lie, so when he is questioned sometimes one of his lies just escapes from his lips (because his lies are packed so tightly in his head, and the pressure for a lie to escape is tremendous).
