Obama considers tapping oil reserves
East Hollywood 3/6/11:

Hillary always looks beautiful, even in the worst photogs. Skydancing has a good post about the article – it’s about her war in trying to bring women out of the morass and into public discourse.
Palin – although I don’t agree with her or even like her (I don’t know her, so how can I claim to like her?) she has a very good point. Kathy Griffin has been over the top for a long time, as has what’shername Bernhardt. Enough already. There are some brilliant female comics – I wonder why the media focuses on these ones – feeds their own narritive perhaps?
That was a great tribute to Hillary over at Sky Dancing. A great way to start the week, too. Hillary’s an enduring champion and has put her personal stamp on the State Department. I don’t agree with many of our foreign policy stances, particularly this endless war cycle. But HRC has pushed for the advancement of women and girls everywhere. And for that, she has my absolute admiration and respect. She’s one of the few bright lights in a horrendously principle-compromised Administration.
Yes, Peggy Sue it really was a great way to start the week, and I’m not even an American. I envy you folks because you have Hillary. It’s a constant question in my mind why the people do not appreciate her, yet the media always paints her in the worst way – perhaps that’s the answer – the media is owned and the owners have their own agenda. Regardless, she is one hell of a woman and human being and will be remembered long after the television channels have become defunct. Hillary Clinton is not her husband – she’s a standalone, and she is magnificent. I love that woman and wish that we could clone her.
on the gas thing…
I heard that Obama has a plan to get us to $2 a gallon gas. He’ll have it sold by the quart…
——————-
i remember watching the original die hard recently. Its a random scene, Al the nice but chubby cop is called in about a report of crime at the Nakotami (sp?) tower, and he goes out of his car and looks at the tower in the distance. As he does you can see behind him the gas station’s sign.
It was something like 79 cents a gallon. I remember very specifically it wasn’t even 80 cents a gallon.
I wanted to cry.
Aaron, I remember when I was learning to read in 1968, gasoline at Chubby Jaquette’s Texaco station in beautiful downtown Elkton, MD, was going for 29.9 cents per gallon.
And you want to cry.
“Why Horses Matter”? It’s gonna be more like, “Why Horses Deserve Us to Prostrate Ourselves in the Muck and Wail, ‘We’re Not Worthy!’”
OK, Jay is on a fracking roll tonight, talking about Spiderman. He needs his own nationally syndicated radio show. (Or at least call me again soon.)
