Contact the White House. Don’t hold back, but be polite.

Contact the White House for what?

Do you seriously think they give a shit what we think?

The last train on that line left the station over the past two years.

“Do you seriously think they give a shit what we think?”

Yeah, I think a lot of Democrats inside the administration care and there is no doubt that a lot of Democratic legislators care. Obama responds to nothing but pressure so telling people to rollover is foolish. If you don’t think that people have some power when they are actively and collectively expressing their displeasure why not just go back to bed and pull the covers over your head????

SO GO Email your Senators & Congressional Rep and tell them GIVE NO GROUND ON SS, MEDICARE OR MEDICAID, BECAUSE there are a lot more of us who don’t want those programs touched during the budget wars than do. .

    • KC says:

Won’t do any good. None. Earnest and adamant emails are nothing more than annoying gnats to be swatted away by a lowly staffer.

Only hitting the streets will make a difference now.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“Only hitting the streets will make a difference now”

That works too, but doing nothing absolutely isn’t a solution..

    • Zaladonis says:

People aren’t going to hit the streets.

If they did, KC is right, it’d make a difference now.

But Americans by and large don’t seriously believe we’re going to crash and Americans have it way too good, and are way too self indulgent, to put down their food, turn off their electronic altar, be inconvenienced and get off their couches to do anything as dull as hitting the streets in a way that could accomplish what you’re talking about. Even those hurting most with foreclosures and bankruptcies – Americans today shrug off the dishonor of failing to pay a debt, of broken commitments, with no sense of shame and move on so why should they bother hitting the streets when they’ve still got a good roof over their head and cocktail of choice in their paw.

A President Hillary in 2009 and 2010 might’ve led to results that gave us a chance, but we’re past that and most likely it won’t matter who’s elected in 2012. This is going down. It’s happening as we speak, or type. It’s not going to happen, it’s happening. And nobody’s hitting the streets, they’re hitting McDonalds and Starbucks. By the time people finally have to face the truth, if they do hit the streets, those they’re protesting will be safely barricaded with their wealth and health. And Hillary’s no fool — she’ll be inside with them.

    • Zaladonis says:

Sorry about all the boldface. I intended it only for the first word, “going.”

Anybody else sick of hearing Social Security and Medicare referred to as ‘entitlement programs’? Wow — the propaganda machine is freakin’ obnoxious.
