RUNNER UP

First off: Part 2 of TL’s “4 Obama Scandals” is up. Read it.

The NH primary results are a little more intriguing as of Monday night. Mittens hath had a bad 36 hours which might put a dent in his celebration Tuesday night. I’m coming to the conclusion that the GOP would be wise to ditch its entire field and go to Indiana to kiss some Mitch Daniels’ ass…but since that ain’t happening we’ll play the game with the “team” we have. The poll tonight is tricky….

I’m asking you to vote for who you think finish in second place in New Hampshire’s primary. Not first. Second.

To commemorate the worst GOP field in American history here is the worst music video of all time:

John, have you checked out the BCS game?

    Sorry Fredster!

    • JWS says:

watching online. Don’t really care except to say YAAAAWN. We need a playoff. And next year USC is BAAAAAACK big time.

also, sorry Fredster. I remember my team losing this game…and winning this game…winning is better.

  4. socalannie says:

It was a really weird game, not that I know much about football. Also, it said the previous 5 BCS teams were all from the SE? Seems very strange. In any event, I see the same West coast bias with the NCAA as other sports. My guys are also happy about Barkley staying on. Should be a fun year for Trojans fans.

  5. socalannie says:

Also, my husband says the same thing, that they need a college playoff system. I don’t see why that would be so difficult. Ok, I’m done with sports now. Off to read tamers latest. Also, I liked your piece about Romney & Huntsman last nite.

I would love for Ron Paul to win it would just explode so many heads on both parties could you imagine Obama having to defend his warmongering, TSA, patriot act, guantanamo etc. against a republican? Some people are too afraid of monkeywrenches… too content with everything running at a medium pace but I think someone like Paul winning the republican nomination could be just what we need to wake up many a sleeping democratic faithfuls. It could be just what we need for the dems to drop Obama, run Hillary and start acting, you know, democratic.

  7. NoEmptySuits says:

Looks like the readers of this site got it right. Ron Paul polled highest for second place at the top of the page, which is what the final outcome is promising to be.

I never hear too many here, or elsewhere for that matter, discuss the issue of “states rights” that is so often referred to by these GOP candidates.

For a nation to be united there must be areas that serve that theory and the one thing that does that is in the area of education. Should these states be handed over the power to institute its own curriculum of what is taught in the public schools we would be facing a breakdown in that one area alone.

Not too difficult to imagine those states who wish to bring back prayer in the schools along with the teaching of Creationism competing with science. Some would even go so far in rewriting the issues that led to the Civil War since some of those states are still chafing under the end result.

We’ve seen the efforts of the pro life movement going state by state removing a woman’s right to choose in defiance of Roe v Wade. “States rights” suggests that individual states may restrict the rights of gays in the workplace, disallow civil unions, and prohibit unmarried couples from living together.

The federal government guarantees certain rights under the Constitution but the issue of state’s rights would give each one the opportunity to overcome the idea of “equality under the law” by legislating their own given individual mandates.

Something to really think about if we wish to continue as “one nation” when environmental guidelines can be set aside in the interests of big business calling this “job creation”.
