Who Are These Bedbugs?

That Barack Obama is a mentally ill narcissist is not news. On the show this week, Tamerlane hilariously recounted how many times he used “I” and “me” during a recent commencement address, which are traditionally about young people charging into the future. Not with Barry in the room. Silly, hardworking graduates. It’s not your day, it’s DEAR LEADER’S!

What continues to baffle is how many pin heads aid and abet this President’s mental illness. Exhibit WTF: Obama’s cultists have now polluted past President’s bios on the White House website with tidbits of Obama’s greatness.  In short, all of American history is tied to and culminates with – Barack Hussein Obama.

The apt descriptive here is SOVIET.

What is wrong with Obama fanatics? They are deranged. There is not another President in our history who had such an inflated and unreal view of himself. And we’ve elected some doozies. But it’s the creepy cultists that continues to baffle, fascinate, and alarm. Who thought it was a good idea to interject Obama into other President’s bios? Who approved it? Did anyone question it? Who ARE these bedbugs?  They respect nothing. Certainly not our culture, our history. When it comes to praising THE ONE, they are dangerously disconnected from their own brains.

Blessedly, these Obama bedbugs have proven to be mostly just an annoyance for the last 4 years. But one must wonder how a newly re-elected Obama would cue them. Will they insist we remove Washington from the 1 dollar bill so Barry’s mug can appear? Will they change the name of the White House to “Barack’s Crib” ? Will Barry O host a 12 hour TV show every Sunday, like the man he seems to pattern himself after, Hugo Chavez?

We’ve muddled through 3 and half years of pure narcissism as the head of our state. What disturbs is just how many people still refuse to question, refuse to employ their brains, refuse to snap out of it.

The creepy idiocy of this Presidential bio stunt may not seem like much. But it says it all about this White House.

They’re not just an annoyance, they’re ruining our nation and our future; and even if Hillary Clinton is elected in 2016 it’ll be too late to stop our descent.

I know everybody’s tired of hearing (seeing) me say it, it’s such a debbie downer refrain, but this isn’t only Obama and his merry pranksters in the WH. Obama being POTUS has fully legitimized it, it’s been percolating for years. We’re now beginning the consequences stage, and that’s not the beginning it’s the beginning of the end. This mentally ill narcissism is epidemic in America, and I’ll go further and call it psychopathic. Who could alter the bios of Presidents on the WH website, or even read about it, and completely fail to recognize that it’s wrong and our Executive Branch doing it hurts our society? A psychopath. Is it Jack the Ripper? No. But having no uncomfortable feeling about sending out hit men to murder an aged ailing human being at home watching TV and drones to kill people whose names you don’t even know, is. Barack Obama is killing lots and lots of people and his supporters don’t care at all. That’s psychopathic. Shrimp and fish in the Gulf of Mexico is being born with major deformities, and this week shrimp season opened in the Gulf of Mexico. Human beings are eating that shrimp and swimming in those cess pool waters, and all Obama supporters can say is Romney is worse please pass the cocktail sauce. The consequences of BP’s pollution down there is reported in detail by Al Jazeera but the American press is covering women with four year old sons attached to their breast. Americans laugh and shrug about that. That’s insane. Some might even say psychopathic.

    • Given barry’s atrocious upbringing (sic) by his mentally ill, neglectful mother, his dysfunctional toots and alcoholic, emotionally distant gramps, plus the sexual abuse by mentor (sic) Frank Marshall Davis, barry most definitely developed Reactive Attachment Disorder and is today a pure, uncaring, sociopath.

Calling him “cool” doesn’t even scratch the surface.

Wow, there’s obviously no level of complete and total ugly-hyperbole you won’t stoop to in your hatred? That was one of the nastiest rants I’ve ever read. Congratulations!!

JPMorgan loses another billion; media reports: Obama Wants Tougher Regulation.

Is Barack Obama the challenger or the President?

Millions of Americans relate to Obama as Superior Victim, so millions don’t question that despite being the man in power he talks like a righteous victim speaking truth to power. He’s a liar, a deceiver, a fraud, a con; his supporters don’t care because they are too.

Jamie Dimon keeps his job, and so will Barack Obama. Just like countless other Superior Victims contributing to our society’s downfall will keep their jobs. (Nevermind the millions of Superior Victim Americans without jobs, drawing from the pubic trough. As Bill Clinton pointed out this week, even if the super rich like him were taxed 100% the middle class will still be hit with higher taxes soon. Cause and effect, anyone?)

This is not a few bedbugs in the White House, it’s an infestation across the nation. We need a movement of exterminators.

Well said, Zaldonis! It’s not being a “Debbie Downer” to point out the truth.

    • leslie says:

It’s just another “I personally believe” without having to be accountable or take action. This has been the m.o. of this pResident. “I personally believe in universal, single payer health care.” “I personally believe/support single sex marriage.” “I personally believe Wall Street should have better oversight.” “I personally want tougher regulation.” etc, etc, and so forth.

      JUST WORDS

  3. Lulu says:

Much if not all of the Obama movement was from social pressure. Much of this was fed by the media but much of it was a result of a shallow, trend following, youth worshiping culture. This is just fine and dandy when things are rolling along fairly well but when things get tough products without substance tend to fall apart quickly and the purchasers become irritated, angry or even infuriated. The idiocy of listening to your minor children tell you how to vote, failing for the marketing pitch of a an unqualified empty suit, and buying into the newest fad is becoming obvious. Obama is a product. He was designed as a fad product to get a quick sale thus ensuring he had a short shelf life. Quality products tend to last or do something that people want or sometimes even need. Fads become irrelevant and then annoying. And that is what Obama currently is, irrelevant and annoying. He gets zero votes from his own party for his budget.

Those who invested heavily in the fad product are going to hang on. They see their investment diminishing daily. Wall St invests professionally and saw it some time ago as sunk costs and walked. Early adapters are seeing the cool fad factor spinning away. Those who prefer classics and quality saw the product for what it was-a flash in the pan. The die hard Obama fanatics cannot afford to replace the product yet as the cost has not become ruinous to them yet but it is getting close. John used one of my favorite words recently and I would use it to describe our current prezzie. Obama has become TACKY.

  4. sophie says:

Most of us have had the experience of meeting someone, usually at a social gathering, who seems pleased to meet us, warm, and caring. As the party progresses, we watch this person greet everyone this way, but now we notice that his/her eyes wander all over the room, as he looks for his next ‘hit.’ Within a matter of minutes, we instinctively label this character as a phony.

That is O in a nutshell, imo. A thin veneer of pseudo charisma in a good suit..The mystery is how long it has taken for so many to figure out that he is nothing more than another jerk on the grift. Americans are so insecure, they actually Want to be ‘had.’ Then they can be Progressive, Post Racial, and that other ‘P’ word, Poorer, but many still think it’s all for a good cause, even if they can’t define what that cause might be.
We are poorer in spirit, truthfulness, decency, and courage, as Americans, and surely poorer in our pocketbooks. It is Painful to even think about four more years of destruction.

    • zaladonis says:

Obama is evil. And as Black Agenda Report laid out in an article two months ago, he’s not only evil he’s effective evil, much more effective than Romney would be.

Why Barack Obama is the More Effective Evil
by Glen Ford at the Left Forum

Let me say from the very beginning that we at Black Agenda Report do not think that Barack Obama is the Lesser Evil. He is the more Effective Evil.

He has been more effective in Evil-Doing than Bush in terms of protecting the citadels of corporate power, and advancing the imperial agenda. He has put both Wall Street and U.S. imperial power on new and more aggressive tracks – just as he hired himself out to do. …

What an insightful reply. Please go to Black Agenda Report and read the linked post. Then come back and explain why those brilliant black thinkers are TEDIOUS.

  6. sophie says:

Bingo! it Is tedious, let’s talk about the drone program instead, or the six million awarded to his favorite Chicago hospital recently, run by his old pal Eric Whittaker. You know the same one that MO put a patient dumping program in place.. Or we could discuss why Israel is Not invited to the NATO meeting.. Then there’s always the price of food and gas, and just about everything else, except housing, which is now cheap ……..take your pick.

Zal, thanks for an interesting article from a surprising source.

Mouse, you know perfectly well there are no neo cons here, the only ‘con’ is the current WH resident’s fakery. Most of us are wandering across a strange and eerie landscape, looking for an exit door marked “America”..
There is nothing progressive about our current president, unless it’s his bank account, that seems to be ‘progressing’ quite nicely.

  11. sophie says:

Why is disagreeing with the current political powers, suddenly considered being a neo con ?
Seems we have a touch of ‘my way or the highway’ going on here. People who have long held values, don’t like seeing them trashed by a charlatan.. I’ve always had this terrible prejudice against crooks and tyrants, I don’t care which party they are from. If that makes .me a neo con, so be it..

    • ANonOMouse says:

If the discussion that happens here daily was truly about “crooks and tyrants” the GOP state legislatues that are redefining abortion rights, gay rights, civil rights, the Paul Ryan Budget Fuck-the-Middle Class-and-poor plan, the Vulture Capitalist Willard Romney, would be a part of JohnWSmart’s headline every morning. But they aren’t and it isn’t!!!

And you sophie, wouldn’t get the word Liberal if it was tatooed on your ass!

    • Senneth says:

      Sophie,
You are not a neocon. This country is circling the drain and there are no adults in the room.
Mouse, why do you support The Won? He is no democrat. I’ve been an FDR liberal all my life and this guy, is horrific.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“Mouse, why do you support The Won? He is no democrat. I’ve been an FDR liberal all my life and this guy, is horrific.”

Senneth, I like you, respect you, but I could never support Romney, period. I know FDR would not vote for Romney or offer even a hint of support for a GOP that is trying to take down the social compacts a GOP that refuses to raise taxes on the rich and corporations, but instead has decided to balance the budget on the backs of those least able to endure the burden.

Disliking Obama isn’t even relevant anymore. The GOP jumped the shark, they offer no acceptable alternative to the Democratic Party and no 3rd Party candidate does either. If I could take back my McCain vote cast in my redstate in 2008, I would.

So, with respect to you Senneth and others who I’ve come to like and respect. I will say we’ll have to agree to disagree. We all have to do what we believe is correct.

    • Senneth says:

      Mouse,
I wouldn’t vote for Romney if he were the only one running. He’s a vulture capitalist and I agree with what you say about Ryan’s budget and what the GOP is doing. I won’t vote for any of them. Blech.

So unfortunately, I’m stuck voting in my local races – Democrats because my local leaders are of the FDR mold. And voting third party in the presidential race.

Thanks for your kind words. I like reading your posts.

The mouse roars that we should go after the republican enemy. Seems like a diversion. Like the love it or leave it folks who urged dissenting Americans to “move to Russia.” For me, a Democrat in exile, it’s important to call bullshit on this red herring.

“For me, a Democrat in exile, it’s important to call bullshit on this red herring.”

For me a liberal who won’t vote for a fucktard like Mitt CAYMAN ISLAND Romney, it’s important to call your “democrat in exile” meme, total bullshit. If you’re a liberal, the GOP and it’s influence in attempting to overturn longstanding law concerning Choice and it’s influence in state legislatures to mariginalize L/G’s, and to attack the social compacts, isn’t a “diversion”, it is a call to action.

Democrat in exile? Yeah right, anonymous. What a crock-a-doodle-do you spin !!!

    • Jay Floyd says:

If your democrat acted like a democrat, you’d have a leg to stand on Mouse.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“If your democrat acted like a democrat, you’d have a leg to stand on Mouse.”

What, you don’t think I have a leg to stand on? Well, he’s not my Democrat, but he’s a Democrat, who unlike Rocky Anderson ot Jill Stein, can be elected and he is the only alternative to Mitt “My Money is in the Cayman’s” Romney who can be elected. If I thought my vote mattered, I’d cast it for Obama.

Like I’ve said here many times, I voted for McCain last time around as a protest. I live in a DEEP-RED State that will not elect Obama, He’ll lose here by at least 20% points, but I won’t use that “My vote doesn’t matter” opportunity to cast a vote for The Proud Supporter of the Paul Ryan Budget, the anti-gay, anti-choice, Romney. Ain’t gonna happen, no way.

Everytime I read at this blog I see something else that surprises me. Sometimes it’s the attempt to paint Obama as a “no-citizen foreigner”, today it was nasty comments about Barack’s mother, grandparents and the assertion that he had sex with a friend of his grandfathers. Those comments are totally ignorant and do nothing toward encouraging people to vote for Rocky Anderson or Jill Stein. In fact they have the opposite effect.

There’s no contrast and comparing of the candidates happening here. There’s just the daily drumbeat of Obama loathing and what looks to be an effort to get people to cast a vote for any 3rd party candidate who might appeal to a Dem or a Liberal. No effort at all happening here to steer voters to a 3rd party alternative to Mitt Romney. At least no effort I recognized. If there was, tell me about it, please.

    • Jay Floyd says:

“There’s no contrast and comparing of the candidates happening here. I think you kind of lost your train of thought in the comment above. Considering a third party who might appeal to a liberal IS an alternative to voting for Romney, isn’t it?

I think that this blog is reacting to a reality that there truly is little difference between GOP and DEM presidential candidates right now. It’s what I’ve observed and I concur with tone of what’s written here.

Giving a hand job to the gay community while revoking habeas corpus is not a wash in my book.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“I think you kind of lost your train of thought in the comment above.”

I think you’re kind of condescending and I don’t like it when it’s done to me anymore than you like when it’s done to you.

” Considering a third party who might appeal to a liberal IS an alternative to voting for Romney, isn’t it?”

You misunderstand my position, Jay. There is not really a lot of evidence that this blog is a haven of/for Liberal thinkers. If there are liberal thinkers commenting here, why is there no defense of liberal ideas against the onslaught against L/G civil rights, women’s reproductive freedom and the plan to dismantle the Social Compacts that are coming from the rightwingers in the Congress, in State Legislatures, in State Houses and from Romney? . Most of what I read here is anti-Obama, all day, everyday. Not a mention about the positions of the alternative to Obama and the only person who can beat Obama, Mitt Romney. It seems obvious to me that there is no real oppostion to Romney here, it’s all oppostion to Obama, all the time under the guise of disgruntled Dems. Disgruntled Dems that don’t give a damn about saving the Social Compacts enough to write about it? Disgruntled Dems who don’t care about civil right for L/G’s or protecting reproductive freedom enough to write about it? I no longer see this blog as a liberal blog, I’m not sure what it is anymore.

If there is a sincere offering up of 3rd party candidates as alternatives here and if this blog isn’t supporting Romney, why not offer up the spectrum. How about Buddy Roemer, instead of Romney or Obama? I’m sure there will be and are others. There is a movement to make Ron Paul the Candidate of the Constitution Party, that should make PrimaDonis happy.

    • Jay Floyd says:

No, I wasn’t condescending. That you heard me as condescending isn’t something that I can correct.

This is a blog written by one person and it reflects his point of view. Those who agree stick around. I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish. If you want a different voice on this blog, you could always write posts — John asks for such contributions all the time.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“This is a blog written by one person and it reflects his point of view.”

It also reflects the point of view of commenters. There is no defense of attacks against civil liberties, civil rights, or the Paul Ryan Hell Budget that will dismantle SS/Medicare & Medicaid and impose a GOP austerity nightmare happening here.

“I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish”

I’m trying to bring it to the attention of people who claim this is a liberal blog, with liberal bloggers, that there’s no evidence of it by reading here.

“you could always write posts — John asks for such contributions all the time.”
:-) A better idea would be for me to move on along to a liberal blog.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“Giving a hand job to the gay community while revoking habeas corpus is not a wash in my book.”

Wow, a hand job, really. And revoking habeus corpus has never been done before, except for Obama’s predecessor George W. Bush and the beloved Abraham Lincoln.

Come on, Jay, that’s not the reason you or John are giving Romney and the GOP a big fat pass.

    • Jay Floyd says:

I’m actually ignoring Romney for the most part. I think he’ll be our next President and I know there’s nothing I can do to change it.

  14. Senneth says:

I am, like Mouse, very concerned about our social compacts. I’m worried that social security, medicare, medicaid will be gone soon, no matter who wins the presidency. I see zero, if he is re-selected, doing nothing but continuing the defunding of social security and medicare. Romney will also try to privatize these programs.

I actually believe, after reading Charles Hugh Smith, Karl Denninger, etc., that those programs will be gone within a decade, which scares me spitless. I hope they’re wrong, but Denninger constantly says it’s simple math. Smith has an interesting article about that which can’t be sustained, won’t be, targeting medicare.

    • zaladonis says:

      That’s exactly right, Senneth.

Those programs can no longer be sustained, and that’s true for several reasons.

Obama put the final touches on that inevitability.

It’s going to get very bad. But there are different levels of bad and Obama in the White House is the worst bad because his presence will make “progressives” defend the choices that make it the worst bad, which they’d fight from anyone else.

    • Senneth says:

      Zal,

Once again, for the record: Social Security was self-funding … until obama cut its funding with his “payroll tax cut”. In his dogshit jobs (sic) bill, obama tried to cut S.S. funding in half and gut medicare by $320 bn.

Social Security is a national retirement fund. Medicare is a national, single payer healthcare program. Every other 1st world country in the world, and many in the lower tiers, have bigger & better versions of these, and experience no trouble funding them.

So, argue the philosophical merits of national retirement & healthcare, but don’t throw up your hands just because our corrupt, shitty-ass Congress & president can’t figure out how to make them work properly.

Good Lord, I just interviewed Rocky Anderson on the show. I’ve screamed and hollered on that show about voting 3rd party.

And let me be clear: I’ll write about Romney when i feel like it. The fact is – and I’m honest about this – Romney the man doesn’t interest me. He’s a country club Republican being exactly who he is. This causes me to comment every so often, but that’s about it. I and no one else here is obligated to say a damn thing about Romney. Or they can rip him. Or they can praise him or whatever. How did you get the idea that this blog or any blog must be balanced in it’s point of view? Does Uppity need to stop focusing so much on women’s issues? Does Noquarter need to write less about national security issues? Does TPM need to write pro GOP tracts? I find this meme weird because you’re the 2nd person today to seem to suddenly think I need to be “fair and balanced” about Obama…WTF? No blogger is obligated to journalism rules. It’s my blog, I’ll write about what I want to…

(And the NYT and Wapo don’t feel obligated to fair treatments of both candidates either…FYI as is now wildly clear….50 year old stories about Romney are a-okay – questioning Barry about his college records…off limits.)

The race for POTUS interests me. How Romney presents interests me. How people react to him interests me. How Obama and Romney duke it out interests me. Obama’s persistent fraudulent nature interests me. The appalling nature of our choice this time interests me. Go back: my themes are steady. I’m an ex-Dem who’s interest is primarily in how I see the Dems selling out. Nothing really new under the sun with the GOPers. Same shit, different decade. What am I supposed to do – rip Romney for saying what every GOP since Dewey has said. Yawn.

I welcome – and sometimes BEG for guest posts. You are most welcome to submit a post. I’ll post an interesting Romney critique. Or even a flame throwing one. It’s not like they are hard to find on the interwebs. As it stands there is one writer here. I write about what interests me – and frankly I’ve been ripping, questioning and refuting Obama for 4 years. This stance is not news. I don’t have to “balance” any thing at all. This is not a journalism class. It’s not journalism at all. It’s opinion. Unlike the stooge media, at least I know that. This blog has been – and will be as far as I can tell- a critique of the sitting potus…for the most part. I won’t be forced into the false narrative that to question Obama is to support Romney. That is bullshit.

And the difference between what Lincoln did and what Obama did is so stark it’s beneath you to compare the two. Obama gave himself the right to kill American citizens – sans civil war – with no oversight…after years of bullshit intoning about W’s lesser incursions into our liberties. Sorry an entire section of the republic has not split off. Maryland is not infested with traitors. Obama just signed off our rights in the dead of night on New Year’s Eve because he felt like it. THAT is something to worry about.

    • tamerlane says:

“And the difference between what Lincoln did and what Obama did is so stark it’s beneath you to compare the two. ”

Art. I, Sec. 9: “The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it”

Last I checked, Lincoln had a rebellion on his hands. Our fascist Dear Leader has a fabricated Forever War vs. a chimerical terrorist group that will never end, so American citizens can now be disappeared forever.

…and yes, I am completely able to weight foundational constitutional protections as more important than civil rights issues. You should try it!

    • ANonOMouse says:

“And are you successful in doing the same with GITMO, war in Afghanistan, occupation of Iraq, no prosecutions of the Wall Street criminals from 2008, drone attacks… etc.? That’s one hell of a big blanket you’ve got there!”

Why are you drawing an analogy between a provision in a law that Obama didn’t champion and has offered a signing statement, stating he will not use the provision, to things that are hard cold realities? That’s just a strawman argument,You know how I feel about all of the above, in fact I have immediate family members in the military who have served in both Iraq & Afghanistan. I’ve expressed my feeling concerning war many times here.

Why do you want me to believe that Barack Obama created or has absolute power to end all of the problems you’ve noted? Please!!!! .

“am completely able to weight foundational constitutional protections as more important than civil rights issues.”

You don’t believe they’re one and the same? You don’t think Civil rights are the byproduct of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? We’re not talking about the right to eat pork chops versus hamburger, we’re talking about how people are treated in the law of the land. The Roe decision, was supported by the 14th Amendment, yet State legislatures are forcing women to submit to ultrasounds and waiting periods and other onerous restrictions in an attempt to circumvent Roe. The rights of L/G to the Civil contract of marriage and all of the legal protections and benefits that come with that will likely be supported by a SCOTUS decision using the same Amendment that was cited in Brown v. BOE and Roe, the 14th Amendment. At least that’s what I read from those fighting for gay marriage in the courts.

Still, you want me to worry more about a law that isn’t being used, that POTUS has said he will not use thann laws that are being created and used TODAY to take away or limit civil rights?

    • Anonymous says:

I see a vast difference between the unquestionable detention of any American by their own government and whether or not gays can marry or women can get abortions. That you don’t is informative.

I am THRILLED to disagree with your point of view wholeheartedly.

      Thrilled I tell you. Thrilled.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“I see a vast difference between the unquestionable detention of any American by their own government”

As soon as that happens then you can lament it. It hasn’t happened and it won’t happen and POTUS has said he won’t enforce it, But hell the militias are ready for you, Prison Planet loonies are ready for you. Just join a militia and take em’ on.

“and whether or not gays can marry or women can get abortions. That you don’t is informative.”

Goddam, I hope so. If not I wouldn’t be commenting.

“I am THRILLED to disagree with your point of view wholeheartedly. Thrilled I tell you. Thrilled”

Not thrilled enough to use a moniker other than Anonymous. :-)

You’re mentally unwell, Mouse. I mean it. You’re fucked up. You actually don’t have a goal other than to argue and insult no matter what.

I’ll just ignore you from now on. Thank goodness for the scroll bar.

    • ANonOMouse says:

“You’re mentally unwell, Mouse. I mean it. You’re fucked up.”

That’s a weak response Jay,but not surprising. It sort of reminds me of when you stomped away from Tamerlane over something that ticked you off.. But, I appreciate you for demonstrating the level of ODS Obsession that has taken hold here. As long as I or anyone will argue for the consensus opinion here, the sentiment is, “good for you, argue on,” but dare not tread upon disagreement that challenges the accepted Obama hate, or you’re labeled “mentally unwell”, “fucked up”.

As soon as you get your License as a Mental Health professional, please write me, until then you can work on Tamerlane or Zaladonis, both would be good candidates for you to practice on.

Mouse,,everything you ‘see’ is just a reflection of your own inner biases, nothing more, trust me on this. In your mind, anyone who disagrees w/you is automatically an enemy. .. I actually feel great empathy for you, and the struggles you have had, and seem to have overcome. It must have been hell, back in the day.. I just don’t like your ‘fire, ready, aim’ approach to political discourse. Firstly, it’s kind of rude, and secondly, it’s distracting. But hey, at least it’s risk free.

    • ANonOMouse says:

Sophie writes: “Mouse,,everything you ‘see’ is just a reflection of your own inner biases, nothing more, trust me on this”

LOL!!! Damn Sophie, can’t you think of something else to write. You’ve used that line on me about 500 times. Besides, everything you see is just a reflection of your own inner biases, sophie, nothing more, TRUST ME, girl!

Sophie writes: “actually feel great empathy for you, and the struggles you have had, and seem to have overcome. It must have been hell, back in the day.”

And I you. And “back in the day” is trying for a resurrection!, You want it back, vote GOP!

“I just don’t like your ‘fire, ready, aim’ approach to political discourse”

There’s no political discussion here. I understand why John spent nearly 3 years writing the same things about Obama, over and over and over again. he was pissed, we all were. We all bitched and moaned the same complaints, day in, day out. But during that time there was no other scenario but Obama, No other moving targe. But now there is another scenario, MItt Romney and the GOP and their plans for America, yet I see absolutely no critique of the challenger, or what he’s likely to bring to the USA,

I get it, Obama is a slug and Romney gets a pass here, because HE’S NOT OBAMA and that’s all that matters. You so-called Liberals want to stay in that rut, go for it, but I can’t stay in the rut any longer, There are worse things than Barack Obama and from my point of view a GOP Congress with Mitt Romney as POTUS, is a lot worse!!!

And then there’s Tamerlane’s penchant for feeling like he must write the most obnoxious and vile statements about Obama’s personal life, even those that are BigGovernment Blog and BIRTHER in their genesis. I understand why those were looked at and even considered possible in the beginning, especially when we knew little about Obama. But that was then and this is now and that stuff has proven to be nothing but Yellow journalism at it’s worst and anyone who doesn’t see that and repeats those Birther, BigGoverment, Larry lies, over and over again, is experiencing something that borders on obsession. Sorry if I don’t think attacking Obama’s deceased mother, grandparents and his grandfather’s friend, accusing him of having sex with a young Obama, is “poltical discourse”.

And last and certainly LEAST, your pal, Zal, who thinks the world began the day he was born and will end the day he dies, wouldn’t know civil discourse even if it invited him to a Martini Lunch.

Y’all know I’m basically outta here anyway, so don’t fret over it.

Ye gods this is really awful! I had to go to the WH website to check it out and it’s true! What lunatics are at the WH. In going to the site, I also couldn’t help but notice that Obama’s smug face is everywhere on the site, including the welcome to the WH first page. AND, at the top – alongside the WH it also has BO’s name. Contrast that to the screen shots of the welcome to the WH first page in the Clinton Administration: http://www.clintonlibrary.gov/_previous/archivesearch.html Just a picture of the WH and the flag. Respect for the premacy of the institution!

This post made me think of a tweet from the Dowager of Downton Abbey:

    The One True Dowager‏@TheDowagerSays

Deep down, all highly intelligent people fear that they’re frauds, while stupid people suspect that they’re geniuses.

    • Lynne in Lakeland says:

Run – thanks for that quote. Love it. Since I don’t think I’m a genius…

Let me give you one – I’m the king of rock, there is none higher, sucker MC’s should call me sire.

      Yeah, I’m old.

    • Jay Floyd says:

Oh lordy, Run — ‘Ye Gods’. I was in THE MUSIC MAN when I was a kid. That took me right back.

    • run_dmc says:

      LOL to both of you!!!

    • zaladonis says:

Run, thanks for that, it led me to look at the site for the first time in years. The reports of ObamaCo inserting Obama into past President’s bios doesn’t do justice to actually reading that insanity! And the comparison you show of the WH first page, between Clinton’s and Obama’s, is stunning, especially because Clinton was somewhat narcissistic (really can’t become President without some level of that, I guess) but Obama takes it to real mental illness extreme. And that’s not hyperbole; there is something seriously wrong with the minds of the people who came up with and executed that ode to The One. Some of us said it about Obama from the start and now there’s evidence that he and his followers really do see him as Dear Leader.

In that context and with the evidence of his choices the past three years it’s even more transparent than four years ago, what he’ll do as President in a second term. The choices themselves are only similar to what Romney would do but as Glen Ford illustrates, Obama’s the more effective evil because he hypnotizes the opposition; easiest example: he’s openly admitted that Obamacare is modeled on Romneycare and his followers not only defend Obamacare but herald it as an achievement.

  18. sophie says:

The only quote I have is “500 million taken from Medicare to fund Obamacare” Not snappy or cool, but there you have it. Having been involved with Medicaid for years, trust me, no one wants their health care decided by a gov’t monolith.

  19. sophie says:

John, no real friend would come to your house and demand you rearrange the furniture, or paint the walls to their liking. I think the same applies here. A lot of us come here to get your unique, and always well written view of things..

    • sophie says:

p.s. My in laws {may they r.i.p.} actually did this to us.. The result ? Imagine a bus station waiting room, with half the comfort….we were up until the wee hours, putting everything back where it had been. Picture Auntie Mame on steroids, that was my m.i.l., bless her heart. Believe me, staying up for hours was a small price to pay at the time. The next day, I wondered what her next ‘improvement project’ might be, I decided to never find out.

  20. tamerlane says:

Remember Dear Leader’s victory speech in 2008?

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/matthew-balan/2008/11/06/newsweek-s-thomas-slightly-creepy-cult-personality-around-obama

I fear the soviet-style insanity if barry gets to give another one.

  21. DazedAndConfused says:

Dear God, what has happened to this blog? Obama supporters are being likened to bedbugs ( trivia question: what historical propaganda does this mimic? ) and Obama himself is being called both a fascist and a Soviet-style leader. Did anyone here ever take a course in 20th century history? Methinks not.

    • run_dmc says:

Um – Dazed – this blog hasn’t changed at all. John has always been consistent in his contempt for Obama supporters who have been zombified by their cultish worship of Obama. (He’s never said all of Obama’s supporters act like cultists, but many of them do and John has always called that out).

Plus – I think you need to read your history – all of it. The facists and Bolsheviks did not start out immediately killing millions and imprisoning/torturing political opponents. They started out with both similar cults of personality combined with encroaching on rights gradually – getting the citizenry to accept increasing incursions on their rights and liberties all in the name of some “solution” or “evil.” Today it’s fear of terrorism that has enabled increasingly gross violations of our constitutional liberties to take place. And Yes, Obama has sped up the process started by Bush. In that regard, he and his administration is falling directly in line with the practice of early days facists (who – remember – are an ideology which combines corporate and state power like we do in the US currently) and other totalitarians who started by encouraging and then demanding worship of their leaders as virtual gods. Sound familiar?

    • ANonOMouse says:

The notion that Obama is a fascist or is scheming to becoma a soviet style leader is the stuff of far-right-wingers! Only the fringe who inhabit Prison Planet and Rense believe that stuff, but it makes a good sledge to beat Obama.

    • tamerlane says:

      Want fascist? obama:
      - authorized ‘disappearing’ of US citizens
      - keeps a hit list of US citizens slated for assassination
      - runs illegal wars in defiance of the Constitution & international law
      - murdered thousands of innocent civilian with his drones
      - extended the surveillance-state FISA & Patriot Act
      - declared it a crime to speak out against the sham election in Yemen:
      http://www.salon.com/2012/05/16/obamas_new_free_speech_threat/singleton/
      - authorized sanctions against peaceable assemblies
      - still hasn’t closed the illegal detention center at Gitmo

John choses to call anyone who supports this agenda a “bedbug”. I call them cultist followers of a dangerous tyrant.

    • run_dmc says:

Mouse – pointless and juvenile (and frankly, boring) insults aren’t going to hide the fact that Obama’s actions are indicative of encroaching facism. Tamerlane gave a good rundown of the top ones. I take it that since you have now become an Obama supporter troll that you support all of these anti-constitutional, totalitarian activities like government spying without warrants, indefinite detention (trying to abolish habeas corpus), assasinations and rendition for torture not to mention unlimited war. (“We are at war with Eastasia, we’ve always been at war with Eastasia.” I guess you repeat that in the mirror every night now.)

    • NoEmptySuits says:

I hardly think Mouse has said anything to earn the opprobrium being dished out to her by some here. She’s decidedly NOT a pro-Obama “troll.” I think we all know her better than that. I don’t support her ‘lesser-than-two-evils’ position on Obama, but I get where she’s coming from. It’s not all that complicated: she’s looking at the alternative ‘on offer’ for 2013-16 (Mitt and a potential GOP sweep of Congress) and she doesn’t like it. So what?…it doesn’t change who she is, what she stands for, or what she’s meant at this blog.

    • zaladonis says:

Mouse is not posting about Obama as the lesser of two evils or as if she’ll hold her nose voting for him. She’s supporting and arguing his political bullshit from birth control to Trayvon Martin to same sex marriage. She defends his outrageous imperialist and corporatist actions by, for example, insisting gay concerns are equal to, or even more worrisome than Obama’s assault on civil liberties because he promised he wouldn’t act on a law he signed. She’s attacking posters who have over time demonstrated solid liberal cred, by calling them neocon. Read the threads because what you’re describing is not what she’s been posting. In fact veterans here like Jay have given her the benefit of the doubt only to be attacked by her in return. This is who she is and what she stands for. You want to defend her, have at it, but at least see what you’re defending.

    • zaladonis says:

And BTW, I like that she’s posting here. She’s saying what a lot of people who were anti-Obama in 2008 are saying. As I said many months ago, this is how Obama gets a second term.

Obama isn’t a bad President just because Hillary would have been a good one, he’s more effective than a Republican President could be at pushing through really bad policy that’s antithetical to liberal principles.

  22. sophie says:

Mouse, please, three words, “turn off msnbc” They have become Pravda, and won’t stop until the money stops coming in. Same goes for Huffpo, another paean to dumb and dumber. And no, I still don’t watch Fox.. Saving our Constitution is all that matters, without it, we will be nothing but another failed State, and all the things you feel passionate about, won’t amount to a hill of beans, they will be made irrelevant by the need to just Survive.. I will vote third party, as I consider it the same as voting “none of the above.”

    • ANonOMouse says:

I’m a CSPAN watcher. Haven’t read HuffPo in so long I can’t remember when. Sorry to burst your bubble.

“Saving our Constitution is all that matters”

Who, exactly, are you trying to save it from? What’s your plan? Militia, Romney, Paul Ryan, Ron Paul? Sometimes, after 3 or 4 beers, I can put on my night vision googles and I can seem them hiding out there in the weeds, just waiting for us to go to sleep so they can take our Constitution.

“I will vote third party, as I consider it the same as voting “none of the above.””

That sounds like a plan. Vote for NONE
