Ancient Aliens And Obama Pods

The shame of Andrea Mitchell and the ongoing implosion of NBC as a legitimate…well uhmmm…anything….got me thinking, or at least musing, about my favorite topic of the last few years which more or less goes under the heading: How did Barack Obama turn millions of otherwise intelligent people into brainless, soulless zombies? No matter who wins in November, I now believe this mass hypnosis will be his crowning achievement. We’ll look back on the Obama interregnum with cringing wonder at how so many happily gave up any pretense of principle in the service of an overrated, overblown, disengaged hack.

- Before the jump please allow me to tag the Mitchell minidrama with the irresistable title: WAWAGATE.

I may be too harsh on Obama. Turning so many brains to mush is an accomplishment  after all. Mitchell is merely the latest in a long line of quiet cultists who’ve been exposed as creepy Obama duendes .  Michael Beschloss, who is rumored to be a historian, bolted out of the gate early with his absurd statement about Obama’s intelligence. Three plus years later even those with moderate or low intelligence easily know his comment is laughable and embarrassing. (Perhaps we need a top ten list of the stupidest living historians.) The beat with these people goes on…and on.

One thing I’m genuinely looking forward to is watching this cult come unhinged. I really am. They are barely holding it together now. They need a new “hit” of the Obama drug every few weeks and Obama is smart enough to know this. He’s their supplier and he’s been supplying.

This unhinging will happen whether Obama wins or loses. In fact, it will probably happen with more dramatic flair if he wins. An Obama loss will merely produce a slew of idiotic, misguided excuses before the entire gaggle limps away.  An Obama win however holds the promise of watching an entire segment of the population self-immolate as term two Obama crashes on the jagged crags of this or that scandal. I wonder if we can get Bill Maher and Janeane Garofalo to do a pay per view in which they both explode into flames while screaming that everyone on earth is a racist – except them and Barack Obama?

Cult is no longer my favorite descriptive for the “creative class” Obama Pods. (They’re neither creative or classy.) Since 2010 they’ve evolved into something more like the sad weirdos on Ancient Aliens. They see ridiculous “facts” as proof of some grand, patently idiotic narrative.

Obama is not to blame for anything, it’s only and always evil Republicans (Who, FYI, haven’t changed much at all in my adult life) is the intellectual equivalent of: Egyptians couldn’t possibly have built the pyramids, therefore sentient beings from across the galaxy landed here and used their astounding technological know-how to show us backwater morons how to stack rocks.

Yes, that’s the answer. It must be. Or else I was duped by Obama, which cannot be possible since he loves me and I’m so smart.

The Ancient Alien narrative of Obama also has the added benefit of making room for the smug insult, something the alleged creative class simply adores. For Ancient Alien believers no human civilization ever accomplished anything (we’re too stupid) without the help of little green men. In the Obama cult version, Obama has only ever been held back by others of lesser magnificence, never because of his character flaws, incompetence, or mistakes. He too smart, has no flaws, and never makes mistakes. Everyone else is wrong. ALL THE TIME. Why just look at this clip of Romney which I doctored for clarity.

Of course, this nonsense also turns to mush. Hence we witness heretofore respectable people Andrea Mitchell emerge from the cult tent to impale her reputation in the service of protecting Obama from devious lesser beings like Romney. This is both sad and hilarious to watch, like one of those clips on Americas Funniest Videos in which an elderly man’s pants drop off while he’s waltzing with his wife.

Andrea Mitchell ought to be ashamed of herself and apologize. She isn’t and she won’t though. Being in the service of her lord is more important than her integrity.

Separated at birth?

  2. propertius says:

Mitchell’s brain was mush long before Obama – how else to explain her choice of husbands?

  3. propertius says:

I do, however, think Evan Thomas was right about Obama: he is “a sort of God”. You know, like Set or Loki.

  4. Andrea Mitchell gave up her integrity in the Spring of 2008 when she figuratively barfed all over Hillary Clinton at every opportunity. I watched her on many occasions and I was in shock at her blatant bias.

The hangers on who still insist that everything our president has done is brilliant evidences itself by the one or two tired trolls who still chase me at one site in particular, building straw men arguments without ever really reading what I wrote, calling me insulting names, cutting and pasting the same tired factoids over and over. Hell, I don;t care if you disagree with me, but I have never yet been uncivil with someone on the net, yet that is the first thing they do. That is telling in itself.

The name calling and demagogic behavior now utilized by the many sycophants in the media reflects a slightly more highbrow version of the same.

    • tamerlane says:

The fascist Left is now using the same, vile tactics in defense of their Anointed One in MA, Elizabeth Warren. When four Cherokee women flew to MA to meet Warren (in vain) about her false heritage claims, the Warren campaign, echoed by Kos, DU, and the MSM, labeled the women “right wing extremists”, even though three are registered Dems, and all voted for obama.

Over at Pravda, Laurence O’Donnell, attempting to smear Ann Romney as elitist, made fun of therapeutic riding, which is a wonderful, beneficial program.

Just like in 2008, proglodytes believe any and all means are justified by their ends. The Left has become a Lord of the Flies cult.

The real question is – who is her lord? Is it Obama or the person who signs her paycheck?

Andrea Mitchell should have been fired but she still has a job. She hasn’t even been suspended. Obviously her employer is satisfied with her performance.

People always assume the media is acting on their own free will. But could that many intelligent, educated people be that stupid?

People always assume the media is acting on their own free will. But could that many intelligent, educated people be that stupid?

      Yes.

And the reason is they were taught to be that stupid by the parents who passed on intelligence and teachers who educated them.

    • sophie says:

myiq, You are assuming that pundits are intelligent and educated..why ?

  6. zaladonis says:

Andrea Mitchell doesn’t feel ashamed and she won’t be hammered for this because what she did has become standard in our discourse, relationships and culture, and what passes for journalism.

What Andrea Mitchell did was disregard context.

If you want to understand anything in the world, from your own feelings to how a tree grows to whether or not a candidate will be the elected official you want, you have to consider context. Without context it’s impossible to fully understand; you can copy other’s words or let your own bias fill in for analysis, or use truthiness in place of truth, but if you want to genuinely understand anything you have to place information into context. But that’s not the way information is ordinarily delivered today and it’s not the way most people think today. This has taken our marketing geniuses and political gurus and parents and teachers decades to accomplish. In the oxymoronic culture we’ve created, words like unprecedented historic epic supersized fill heavily edited truncated news reports, 420 word status updates, and texts where the “O” in “OK” is too much context to bother with. We consider ourselves advanced in the Age of Soundbites but in truth we have made ourselves stupid with ignorance.

  7. sophie says:

Here’s a soundbite from the Founders “our sacred honor”. Does anyone think those words can be spun ? On msnbc they can, and on CNN.
C’mon Andrea, tell us what they really mean..

  8. deadenders says:

Here’s acolyte Mahr’s reasoning behind giving Obama a second term. Apparently my job as a voter is to bolster Obama’s self esteem.
    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/bill-maher-if-first-black-president-only-has-one-term-people-would-see-it-as-a-failure/

    • SophieCT says:

Maher has shown himself to be an incredibly shallow thinker.

Hey Bill: if we reward him with a second term simply because he is black, how would most people see that? I have a great idea–let’s vote for the best person and let the American people see that as citizens voting for the best person. (Except for the fact that the best person isn’t running and the two we have are competing to be Kings of Mediocrity, but you get my point.)

    • tamerlane says:

Maher needs to stop projecting his sexual disfunction onto politics.

    • run_dmc says:

If all we need is a black man in the role so people don’t see black people as failures, I have my cousin Alfred who would be just as well – even better suited. He is extraordinarily hard-working, great with numbers, family man, dedicated to his community, and is now out of prison on a small, little embezzlement charge so can take on the job unencumbered.

      (True story about Alfred.)

But, honestly – it’s crazy. My argument to all my friends who wanted so desparately to see a black man president and so were willing to overlook SUBSTANTIAL and obvious flaws in Obama was why this black man? There are so so many talented, incredibly smart, hard working people with significant accomplishments who are charismatic too and who aren’t so damn weird that the DNC could have groomed for 2016 and supported – Corey Booker comes to mind. Why risk everything on someone narcisstic AND lazy who would make it difficult for another black person to ever follow him because he was bound to fail? No one cared. No one even cared that Obama might ruin it for every other black person to follow. They just wanted HIM.

  10. sophie says:

Maher needs to realize that it’s O’s White half the voters distrust and disbelieve.

  11. Lulu says:

I’m starting to think that this is a cult of the flagellants. The world is evil and there is only one true savior that can prevent the end. Instead of physical mortification they practice a mental form of it. As more people reject their worldview they become more extreme. It is at best crazy.

  12. Anonymous says:

What is so disappointing to me is how lazy these talking heads are – there is no journalism or research going on. That’s why I don’t watch cable news shows. Even Maddow makes me sick anymore.

If Michell/MSNBC wanted to discredit Romney maybe she could have researched a little and found out that apparently touch screens were developed using government funding:

    • tamerlane says:

As I always say, if you cross-bred journalists with tree sloths, you’d get slightly smarter journalists who could also hang upside-down from trees.

  13. I think we are all waiting to see the upcoming head explosions of the Obama pod people. I certainly am looking forward to it. From being called racist to uninformed to not a real Liberal, I have been completely turned off by these journalists and obots who choose to quote them versus using their own brains to tell me why they supported Obama and continue to do so. I’d like to hear something besides how they make him feel good. The imagery of Obama as providing a continual fix to the hopium addled is apt. IMO that Mitchell had to make fun of Romney in that edited piece because what it really showed was Romney’s ability to connect with those voters using a local example and doing so in a creative way. To me its a hallmark of true genius to be able to communicate using lay terms so the common voter gets the point (or, really good political coaching, but isn’t a successful executive well skilled in this?). Clinton was a genius at this (indeed, Hillary was too). Obama fails at this routinely. It’s becoming more obvious by the day.

  14. larry leftout says:

Comcast/GE are the responsible parties. They are in control of NBC and MSNBC. To allow employees to politically manipulate free information, with no sense of shame or risk of dismissal, is no different than, allowing their cable systems’ employees to actively misrepresent what subscribers should and must pay to get their cable services. In a short span of time, less than 90 days, Comcast/GE owned, NBC and sister station MSNBC have been caught three separate times deliberately misrepresenting the free news. Comcast/GE have failed to uphold their responsibility to report a free and honest account of news which is a sacred public trust. Not a corporate marketing machine to enrich themselves financially or politically or to increase value for their stock holders. Thomas Jefferson explained,“The free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man. Where the press is free, all is safe.” There is mischief at NBC and MSNBC, and Comcast/GE is allowing it to flourish. They have done nothing to stop it or even curtail it. Campus/Griffin should be publicly fired, as a stern example to show that Comcast/GE are dedicated to a free and honest press. Then a veteran reporter/journalist like Andrea Mitchell, who was complicit in the third distortion, would not flaunt her disrespect for the free news, and her chuckles would cease. Something is rotten, in the fourth estate and Comcast/GE should be held accountable and responsible !

The Ancient Alien narrative of Obama

    Hilarious !!!! It explains alot

And Mitchell did this shit waaaay before 2008…she made her bones as a .9999 % water carrier during the 8 years of relentless press attacks on the Clintons during Bill’s presidency. That was before her hair went quite gold with ill gotten gains….

  16. paper doll says:

In the many years I was a Dem, among the ranks I saw a good amount of envy over the GOP’s willingness to jack boot to a tune ( stay on message! ) and to blithely make up thier own reality regardless of facts ( ” facts are stupid things ” sayth Lord God Ronald ) so now it seems the Dems have given up resisting the call of these great pleasures…part of Barry’s appeal , at least in ’08. You can goose step and make shit up and it’s a morel imperative that you do! So you MUST goose step and believe whatever…amazing to see

      Ture Story:
t I have a friend whose family member MOVED HER WEDDING DATE, just so she could work on TehOnce’s 2012 campaign. So this gift registry was most likely an idea whose inception came more than a year ago when the wedding had been moved up. sick, sick, sick.

    • run_dmc says:

I do love the “it’s a gift we can all appreciate – and goes a lot further than a gravy boat.” Um – beg to differ. A gravy boat will last longer than 4 more years and feeds hungry mouths rather than creates them.

    • run_dmc says:

Oh, and a gravy boat will spend a lot less time golfing and on vacation.

    • run_dmc says:

Ok – I’m now obsessed with the desperation and weirdness of this fundraising request. But, I realize that I just unconciously corrected the ad for them. It’s a gravy BOAT not a gravy BOWL, idiots. Who doesn’t know that?!! I know that and I’ve never been married. Are they that out of touch? Or . . . doo doo doo doo . .Alien? It’s sort of like the Coneheads trying to write a line about an earth wedding.

  19. run_dmc says:

John – ok, here’s another theory for you. People in the media, in particular, were conducting a test. Of the emergency broadcast system, if you will. They were trying to figure out whether they could really elect their first president themselves. They know they have a powerful influence over the themes that emerge during campaigns – Clinton is a sleaze, Al Gore is an obnoxious know-it-all, Bush is dumb – but couldn’t really tell whether the messages they pushed either carried or detonated a campaign on their own.

With Obama, they could truly test whether a media-created meme on its own could propel a candidate into office. And to do that, they had to work with the most talentless, thin-resumed hack they could find. Because, if they could work the angles to get this do-nothing into the presidency, then they could tell themselves that it was they alone – certainly not anything he’d ever done – that won the presidency.

  20. sophie says:

dmc…..you raise the questions I too, have asked. We all know that there are many spectacular Black men and women out there; so why this half baked, half breed chameleon ? It must have been his malleability, with a bonus streak of ruthlessness. {not that he dirties his own hands, but nonetheless] and his ability to read a teleprompter.
Were the Big Boys looking for a Black man per se, or were they looking for Chauncey Gardner ?
Your theory may be correct, but now what ? Cousin Alfred and my Cousin Fred would make a great team..

    • run_dmc says:

I want to meet your cousin Fred because my cousin Alfred is a nut and a great story teller – another thing he does better than Obama! but, Yes – I think they were looking for Chauncey Gardner. But, I think they thought he’d play the role a little better and with more gumption than he has – more fool them!

    • SophieCT says:

      Here’s your Chauncey.

  21. JohnSmart says:

    wow, great Chauncey pic, SophieCT.

  22. Buck O'Fama says:

Well, at the very least Ancient Aliens has some basis in reality for their claims; after all, the Pyramids DO exist, whether or not they were built the way AA claims is another story.

I have YET to see ANY basis in fact for a single Obama myth. It’s as if the Obama pods cry out “Look over at those pyramids Obama built” and there’s nothing there but a mound left by a pooch with a stomach problem. They definitely live in an alternative reality and I use the term “reality” loosely.

  23. Blaine (FF) — so sorry I missed your lovely comment last night! Thanks so much for the virtual hug!!! :)
