Election Day

I’m working today but feel free to share your thoughts about what you’re observing here. I’ll be on tonight as returns start coming in.

  1. Ok- home for lunch. Lines out the door and down the walk at our precinct- first time ever I have waited in line here. Checked the one bot precinct twice already today- trickles of voters HAH!
So standing on line and chatting with the older women ahead and behind me- and they were mourning the fact that nobody teaches the kids to sing the good old patriotic songs anymore.
    Heh
So I gave an impromptu patriotic concert. Got em all whipped up- singing God Bless America, America the Beautiful etc.
So if you by chance see on YouTube or Twitter that some bitter clinger was singing in line and had the crowd singing with her-
    It’s True

MoveOn wrote me this morning, tellingd me to act like “we’re 3 points down.”

Stephanie Cutter “warned” obots not to pay attention to initial returns reports.

Howard Dean said on TASS “Given the vote and the leading of the polls in Ohio the only way he can lose is if people are prevented from casting their ballots either voting machies that aren’t functioning right or other forms of harassment,”

  3. Jay Floyd says:

Long lines for my precinct here in Southern California.

    Favorite absurd moment:

An incredibly earnest, harried poll worker said to a voter who wasn’t sure if they were at the correct polling place, “Thank you for putting up with the system even though it’s broken.” Now that’s customer service!

  4. John Smart says:

It occurs to me I’d like a report about a real black panther showing up outside a polling place….as in a big cat just appearing, yawning, licking himself, and wandering off.

  5. LonelyLiberal says:

    Just posted on Drudge:

    EXIT POLL BOOM FOR O

    R: NC, FL
O: OH, NH, PA, MI, NV
    TOSS UP: VA, CO, IA

  6. LonelyLiberal says:

Snarky tweet from Glenn Greenwald: Internal struggle in Democrats’ head: “I know Drudge’s exit polls are worthless, but they look SOOO good.”

(Greenwald, bless him, loathes both O & R)

  7. NoEmptySuits says:

Based on the exit polling on issues, it smells like a Romney blow out. The economy, the economy, the economy is on the minds of over 60% of the voters.

    • Kris says:

Unfortunately, not so simple. They are blaming bush more than obama. what does that mean? does it mean a vote for change?

    • NoEmptySuits says:

They may blame Bush, but, IMO, they’ll hold O accountable for not put us in an upswing in four years. The two reactions aren’t inconsistent.
