John, you say that Clinton makes amends, but I’m sure you know that Clinton signed DOMA to forestall a Constitutional Amendment making marriage legal only between one man and one woman, which would have passed.
Sorry, the above was me.
” I’m sure you know that Clinton signed DOMA to forestall a Constitutional Amendment ”
*******
The other fact that is rarely mentioned by people who point the finger at Clinton, is that DOMA passed both Houses of Congress by veto proof vote margins. Reading the list of “yea” votes is interesting, perhaps the two most surprising Senate “yea” votes are Paul Wellstone and Barbara Mikulski.
Further proof that the biggest whore house in America can be found in the District of Columbia.
While a staunch supporter of marriage equality, am also divorced and remarried to a divorced person. So I must mention that equality of marriage also equals equality of divorce.
So many things in life fall into the category of ‘be careful what you wish for.’ Jus’ sayin’

Nice catch, Sweet Sue.
per Conner, I married, way too young, to a schizophrenic who treated me like shit. It was a living hell for me, and divorce was rebirth — I’ve been so much happier since. When I think now of two young acquaintances, men legally married in Massachusetts, who appear so happy and ‘meant for each other’, it’s not too far-fetched to say that my marriage undermined the sanctity of theirs!
